Hypnotherapy is used to treat various long term conditions and habits, such as;

Anxiety, Stress, Trauma, PTSD, Insomnia, Lack of Confidence, Panic Attacks, OCD, Phobias, Weight Issues, Smoking Cessation, Exam Stress.

Hypnotherapy is a guided hypnotic or trance like state of focus and concentration, achieved with the help of the therapist. We enter trance-like states every day – when we are completely absorbed by a film or a book, or even our own thoughts. Once in a trance-like state, the therapist can communicate with the subconscious and help the client make positive changes or regain control in certain areas of their lives.

Events from your past can often be the cause of your current difficulties. With the help of hypnosis, the therapist can help the subconscious to work in harmony with you, and therefore change your life and the way you think for the positive.

  • I always like to meet clients for a 30 minute complimentary initial consultation. It is important in hypnotherapy to fully understand the client’s needs and issues and to work together to find an approach that is right for the client.

    Sessions start with a 10 minute guided deep relaxation process, by the end of which the client is in a trance like state. Then I can help the client change negative subconscious thoughts to positive life changing thoughts.

    Occasionally, regression is required. This involves helping the client to revisit past experiences and events that have had a negative hold on their life. I lead the client through a process that enables them to let go of those negative thoughts and memories so they can move on freely and positively in life.

    At the end of every session, I gently bring the client back to a state of full awareness.

  • The initial consultation is 30 minutes. Hypnotherapy sessions last from 45 minutes to one and a half hours.

  • The length of your therapy is completely dependent on your needs and issues. Some issues only take one session, whereas others may require longer term work.

  • Hypnosis works for most clients, but some are more suggestible than others. A client needs to be fully committed and trust the therapy and the therapist. It is vital to have an open mind.

  • It is important to understand that you are fully in control under hypnosis, and you don’t have to take on the therapist’s suggestions if you don’t want to. Your subconscious is always there to keep you safe

Confidence / Lack of Self Esteem

So many of us lack confidence and self esteem. Through the use of hypnosis, I help uncover why you are lacking, and I give you techniques to improve both.

Quitting smoking

Quitting smoking can be really difficult. You may have tried several times before to quit with no success. You have to be 100% committed to WANTING to stop smoking. If you are, then hypnosis may well succeed for you.
The treatment consists of an initial consultation where I found out in detail about your smoking habit. Your second session is when I hypnotise you and help you become a non-smoker. Many clients succeed with just these 2 sessions, but some find they need another session to help re-inforce their new non-smoking habit.

Phobias/fears

Fear is a natural response we have to danger. Phobias are different. Phobias are much more intense than fears and can lead to panic attacks in some people.
Most phobias exist in our subconscious mind. With the use of hypnosis, you can change the way you feel and behave towards your phobia.

Insomnia

Insomnia is the difficulty of getting to sleep or staying asleep. Hypnotherapy can help tackle any issues you may have which may contribute to your insomnia. Hypnotherapy in itself is extremely relaxing and promotes a feeling of relaxed wellbeing.

Anxiety / Stress / Panic Attacks

Hypnosis allows you to experience deep levels of relaxation and so helps to reduce levels of stress
and anxiety. I often use a hypnotic technique to give you key words and coping strategies to manage your issues.

Exam anxiety and stress for teenagers

I treat many teenagers to help with their exam anxiety and stress. Many students struggle to manage their anxiety levels at this very pressurised time, so the aim of these sessions is to help them find coping mechanisms in the form of talking therapies and hypnotic relaxation exercises. 

Hypno-Gastric Band Therapy

Hypno-Gastric Band is about changing your mindset to food. It puts you in control of your eating habits and encourages you to eat small portions of healthy nutritious food.


The therapy is comprised of 4 sessions, all of which are essential for the therapy to work. On the first session, we look at your current diet and lifestyle and decide on the ‘bad boys’ in your diet. Under hypnosis, I ask your subconscious to create three new alternative choices to these bad habits. This is then followed by me telling you that you will be in control of your eating habits, eat healthily; small portions; slowly; being comfortable to leave food on your plate, and encouraging you to exercise. The second session is to look further at problem areas of your diet and to see if there are any negative past events that have contributed to your weight problem. On the third session, you have your hypno-gastric band ‘surgery’. Under hypnosis, you visualise yourself having a gastric band inserted. The first three sessions are carried out over a period of 3 weeks. The fourth session is the final step. This session is carried out when you are ready for it - some clients need it approximately 4 weeks after the third session... some don't need it for a year!


You have to be committed to listening to a hypnosis recording every day from the start of your treatment and for up to 6 months after you have finished.
